Good morning,

We are using multiple TI PHYs on our board. We were using one clock oscillator and a clock buffer to supply 2 of our PHYs and our FPGA with 25 MHz clock.

Now we have a scarcity issue with the clock buffer that we are using. We would like to replace existing clock buffer with a TI buffer and checked our database and found this two components.

One is SN74LVC541A and the other one is SN74LVC2G17DSFR.

Could you please check if both are okay to use with one single clock oscillator and get 3 output clocks to feed DP83867E?

Thank you in advance for your help

Best regards.

  • When the voltage of the clock source is 2.5 V or lower, then AUC family devices (e.g., SN74AUC2G34, SN74AUC1G17) would be fastest. At 3.3 V, LVC would be fastest, but it works down to 1.8 V; '541 or  '17 or any other buffer (e.g., SN74LVC3G17/34) are OK.
