DS90UB941AS-Q1: 941 with 948: why only dual link can successfully work?

Hi team,

My customer said they found several failure boards:
1. They found 0x5b register must be set to 0x03 or 0x07, then the display 948 and mcu can be found. If they change to 0x01, 948 can't be found.

2. After 0x5b register set to 0x07, when give a light up command, the failure board must reset I2C then pattern could occur. But normal board don't need to reset I2C.

3. If customer set 0X5B register to 0X01, after power up, the 0X5A register is 0X09. Why it indicates 00 dual mode if we already set to only port 0?

    Hello Iris,

    0x5A[5:4] will not indicate the correct mode unless you set 0x5A[6] to 1.

    Also, what about the DES? is it set for single lane or dual lane?

    Yes, correct. This is a read bit and will be set to 1 only if a valid input has been detected, and the FPD3 Transmit connection has entered the correct mode (i.e. Single vs Dual mode). So if that bit is set to 0, means the SER is still not entered the correct mode or not ready yet!
