Part Number: SMA2RJ45EVK
Hello,
I posted this question on behalf of a customer question. He intends to use the adapter in his camera application, but there are concerns regarding the range nad other possibly issues that might arise.
Here is a summary of the intended application:
----------
I'm in the process of developing a moving/sliding remote camera system for filming wildlife at range in the canopy.
One of the problems I have run into is that the camera slider I am using only has a 2.4ghz rc range of 20m.
Unfortunately I need around 50-100m if it#s possible.
Due to the design of the slider TX and RX it's not possible to go the simple high gain signal booster route.
The slider uses a RPSMA antenna which I'm planning to take off, route a short (1m) sma cable through a weatherproof housing to another
weatherproofed power conversion and communication box.
What I'd like to know is, is it possible to install this part into the weatherproof box, connect up the RPSMA port from the slider to the
sma/rj45 converter using a 1m sma cable. Then route a 50m Ethernet cable from the converter in the box back to where the camera operator is.
At the operators end you'd have another converter with an aerial attached.
This in theory would just be relocating the aerial through the cabling to within controllable RC range of the current slider controller.
I'm sure it's not as easy as that and possibly you need some power to push the signal down the Ethernet using something like a POE injector,
-------
Would this be something you can help with and advise if this can be accomplished, i.e. with some range extender to stabilize the signal?
Thank you very much.
Best regards
