DS90UB960-Q1: Two hubs DS90UB960-Q1 with together working

Part Number: DS90UB960-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB633A-Q1, DS90UB953A-Q1, DS90UB913Q-Q1

Hi,
I have a few questions about Surround View System structure. We are need to combine full HD video streams from 6 cameras and 2 streams from cameras 640x480. We want to use FPD Link III interface for cameras interconnection. Jetson TX2i module will be connected to two DS90UB960-Q1 deserializers. It’s pity, but Jetson have only 3 CSI ports with 4 data lines per each.

1. May we transfer via hub 2 two full HD streams and two low resolution streams via only one TX0 port?
2. How we make a multi-camera synchronization between two FPD Link hubs? Is it possible?
3. May we connect serializer DS90UB633A-Q1 to DS90UB960-Q1 deserializer or we should use chain like: DS90UB633A-Q1 --> DS90UB662A-Q1 --> DS90UB953A-Q1--> DS90UB960-Q1 ?
Regards, Maxim

  • Hello MAxim,

    1. May we transfer via hub 2 two full HD streams and two low resolution streams via only one TX0 port?

    Are you talking about the second Hub using the shown 4x cameras with their resolutions?

    2. How we make a multi-camera synchronization between two FPD Link hubs? Is it possible?

    You can use one Frame Sync signal connected to both Hubs

    3. May we connect serializer DS90UB633A-Q1 to DS90UB960-Q1 deserializer or we should use chain like: DS90UB633A-Q1 --> DS90UB662A-Q1 --> DS90UB953A-Q1--> DS90UB960-Q1 ?

    You can only use SER and DES within the same device family either the UB9xx series . or the UB6xx family.

  • Hello, Jaradat

    1. Yes, I am talking about second hub using the shown 4x cameras with their resolutions.

    2. Ok, I will make one Frame Sync on both hubs.

    3. May I use DS90UB913Q-Q1 instead DS90UB633A-Q1 and connect to DS90UB960-Q1 directly?

    Regards, Maxim

  • Hello Maxim,

    1) Yes, this number of cameras and resolution are supported by one CSI-2 output of the Hub. But you should make sure that the number of bits/pixels doesn't exceed 16.

    3) Yes, you can use the DS90UB913A or the DS90UB933
