TUSB9261 Implemintaion questions

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB9261

Hello,

I'm currently working on a new design utilizing the TUSB9261. I have some questions for which the documentaion provides no answers:

1. What is the AMR of the non-power pins of the TUSB9261? The data-sheet only specifies the AMR for the power pins. Are there protection diodes (I'm particulary interested in the GRSTz and DP,DN pins)

2. If using an external CLK for the TUSB9261 - does it have to be with 1.8V signaling? That is what is said in the implemintaion guide but I find it to be weird since the part has no 1.8V supply. is the pin 3.3V tolerant?

3. Does the DP,DN pins implement all the neccesry resistors internaly?: 45ohm series termination and 1.5kOhm PU on DP line for speed negotiation?

4.In the data-sheet is says the part first tries to negotiate as a SS device and if it fails as a HS device. If I leave the SS pins not-connected can this cause problems for the part to be confugured as a HS device?

5. During Boot\Power-UP - are the I\O pins of the TUSB9261 defined? or it should be assumed that they can take any level?

Thanks in advance,

Elad

  • Hello Elad:

    Regarding to TUSB9261 device questions:

    1) The power should apply to all pins. There are protection diodes.

    2) Yes, there is an integrated 1.8V regulator.

    3) Yes, this is standard.

    4) No.

    5) They are undefined in reset.

    Regards,
