DP83TD510E: rmii_ovf_sts = 1 (RMII fifo overflow indication) when sending TX packets on RGMII

Part Number: DP83TD510E

Hi!

We are using RGMII and sending 64 byte packets from the MAC to the PHY (TX direction).

When we read the MAC_CFG_1 Register (Address 0x17), we get rmii_ovf_sts = ‘1’ (“RMII fifo overflow indication”)

The bit also re-appears after clearing it during traffic.

But the traffic is still OK!

- Is the rmii_ovf_sts bit for the FIFO in the TX or RX direction?

- Since we are using RGMII (not RMII), is the rmii_ovf_sts bit to be ignored or does it still apply for RGMII?

Best regards,
