DS160PR421: Idle power

Part Number: DS160PR421

Hello,  My customer is asking about DS160PR421 spec, The datasheet only mention active power. Do you have idle mode power, when PCie is in idle mode.

In spec, there has disable mode power, But It isnt clear if that would be when PCIe is in idle mode.

best regards,

  • Hi Steve,

Disable mode power is when disable pins or PD pins are asserted. Typically when port is not used or when there is no active PCIe session, PERST# from PCIe interface is asserted. This pin is used - using proper logic - to assert PD pins. This is disable power. When there is idle pattern or there is a PCIe session, then we are operating in normal active power state. The only way to get lower power, is when PD pins are asserted.
