DS90UB953 chip heat is serious.

1. Our PCB adopts a 6-layer stacked design, the thickness of PCB is 0.2mm, the size is 5.5X11mm.

2. DS90UB953 chip heat is serious, which can reach more than 70°C.

3. Is this the problem of the chip itself? Besides optimizing heat dissipation, is there any way to reduce the heat of the chip.

Do you have any other device on the same board? Because the SER itself does not get that much hot!

Hello,

There is no other device except DS90UB953 and its power supply circuit. The power chip uses TLV705 to provide 1.8V power, and the Sensor is at the far end and the connector is at the back.

this is not normal behavior. Maybe you have a short circuit or bad soldering on the board!

I have the UB953 running since yesterday and the temp does not exceed 37C.

Hello,

We have tested all the pins of the PCB and they are all normal. After analysis, it may be that our copper plate is not big enough to meet the heat dissipation of 953. Our PCB is only 0.2mm thick, 5.5X11mm, insufficient copper cladding leads to poor heat dissipation performance. I wonder if you have any better suggestions. Thank you.
