TCAN1043A-Q1: difference behavior between TCAN1043A-Q1 and TCAN1043-Q1

Part Number: TCAN1043A-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCAN1043-Q1, , TCAN1043

Hi Expert,

My customer is trying to evaluate the TCAN1043A-Q1 to replace TCAN1043-Q1 in their production project. They did some measurements, but found some different behavior. Please see the test report in the attached excel.

May you kindly confirm if the behavior for TCAN1043A-Q1 is correct or not? Please also help me understand the behavior.

Thanks!

  • Ethan,

One of the big differences between the TCAN1043A v.s the TCAN1043 is the TXDCLP flag. The way this flag is thrown is if you enter any CAN active mode (normal or silent) with TXD dominant (low). If the TXDCLP flag is thrown the driver of the CAN bus is turned off. There are multiple ways that the flag is then turned off:

Can you check if you are entering normal mode with TXD low?

    Best,

    Chris
