DP83826I: Does it supports IEEE 802.3 ENDEC 10B-T and PCS 100B-T?

Part Number: DP83826I
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83848I

Team,

Could you please advise if any of the DP8382x PHYs (DP83826, DP83825) do support all the below?

  • Temperature Range from –40°C to 85°C (or higher)
    • Power 3.3-V +-10%
    • 3.3-V MAC Interface
    • RMII Rev. 1.2 Interface (Configurable)
    • MII Serial Management Interface (MDC and MDIO) Mode, Activity, Duplex and Collision Detect
    • IEEE 802.3 ENDEC, 10BASE-T Transceivers and Filters
    • IEEE 802.3 PCS, 100BASE-TX Transceivers and Filters
    • IEEE 802.3 MII • Single Register Access for Complete PHY Status
    • IEEE 802.3 Auto-Negotiation and Parallel  Detection
    Optional:
    • Programmable LED Support for Link, 10/100 Mb/s

Thanks in advance,

A

  • AnBer,

Yes, both of those devices support the features listed.

In the future, for a quicker and easier solution, please go to https://www.ti.com/interface/ethernet/phys/products.html and you can search/filter out those specific features, while also being able to compare different devices. If even more detail is required, our datasheets are available, go into much more detail, and are public for all to see. Hope this helps!

    Sincerely,

    Jason Lee

  • Hi Jason,

yes I used the table you mentioned:
         https://www.ti.com/interface/ethernet/phys/products.html#p1323=10/100&p1918=MII;RMII&p0=3.3

    Let me clarify:
The goal was to find the closest replacement to DP83848I that includes the features listed above.
But the terminology of the DP83848I datasheet is different compared to the datasheet terminology of the DP8382x.

For example the reference to IEEE 802.3 ENDEC, 10BASE-T and EEE 802.3 PCS 100BASE-TX  are not in the DP8382x.
-Do the DP83826/DP83825 support all the IEEE 802.3 modes (see original post above) that the DP83848I supports?

-I assume there are no plan to support SNI in any of the DP8382x derivatives. Correct?

(If you are not very familiar with the Eth std it is difficult to answer it by yourself).

Also Feedback about the TI.COM filters:
The Operating temperature filter should enable to filter for example all phys supporting -45C to 85C or more (but not lower).
Today it does not seem you can do remove lower temperature from the selection...

    Thanks in advance,

    A.

  • -Do the DP83826/DP83825 support all the IEEE 802.3 modes (see original post above) that the DP83848I supports?

Yes, DP83825/6 supports those modes from the original post

-I assume there are no plan to support SNI in any of the DP8382x derivatives. Correct?

    That is correct.
