TUSB8042: Pin status under Reset condition

Part Number: TUSB8042
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB8040A,

Dear Team,

My customer has used the TUSB8040A, but it is now NRND. Then, they are considering to change from TUSB8040A to TUSB8042, and they are checking the datasheet of the TUSB8042 now.
There is a question from them regarding the pin status under Reset condition.

Q1: When the TUSB8042 is under Reset condition, what are Pins status except USB High-speed lines and USB SperSpeed lines?

On the TUSB8040A, those all pins are Hi-Z.

I look forward to your reply.
Thank you.

Best Regards,

Where do you see in the TUSB8040A datasheet that the control pins are Hi-Z state during reset condition? I would expect the same applies to the TUSB8042 as well.

    Thanks

  • Dear David-san,

    I asked Ninomiya-san about this.

    >Where do you see in the TUSB8040A datasheet that the control pins are Hi-Z state during reset condition?

->This information dose not describe in the TUSB8040A datasheet.

But, when I was developing with using the TUSB8040A in the past, I have received this information of the TUSB8040A's ports condition during reset.

So, I have an additional question.

Has the TUSB8042 functional compatibility with the TUSB8040A during reset condition?

Especially, I am thinking I want to know the condition of SCL and SDA pin. Because we are going to write configuration setting to external EEPROM while the TUSB8042 and the EEPROM are mounted.

Are SCL and SDA pin Hi-z (Input condition) during reset condition?

    Best Regards,

Correct, SCL and SDA are in high-Z state during reset.

    Thanks
