SN75DPHY440SS: SNx5DPHY440SS CSI-2/DSI DPHY Re-timer

Part Number: SN75DPHY440SS

Dear Team,

Can you help to apply the application note for adjusting MIPI signal and explain the parameter details?

Many Thanks,

Jimmy

I do not have a app note on tuning only the MIPI signal, but you can refer to this app note for a quick introduction to signal conditioning theory and practical tuning method. Even though the app note is targeted toward USB, the fundamental is the same.

The DPHY440 provides signal compensation at both RX and TX

For RX, it will be EQ

For TX, it will be VOD, Pre-emphasis and Slew.

    Thanks

    David

  • Hi David,

Can you explain by wave form?

I'd like to know the detail for adjusting about EQ / HS TX Edge Rate/ HS Voltage Swing, HS Pre-emphasis, LPTX Edge Rate.

    Many Thanks,

    Jimmy

You have to look at the scope waveform, typically eye diagram when adjusting the EQ and HS TX Edge Rate/ HS Voltage Swing, HS Pre-emphasis and LPTX Edge Rate. The goal is to achieve an eye that is properly equalized as much as possible.

But you can setting the RX EQ if you know the input channel loss, the RX EQ needs to match with the input channel loss as close as possible. The same concept would apply toward the TX pre-emphasis and output channel loss as well.

    Thanks

    David
