    The Programming Straps offer a way to "program" or setup the PHY in whichever mode you choose, instead of having to use software to commit Register Writes.

    Essentially, it is a hardware solution to setting up the PHY. With the Strap settings you can choose the PHY Address, MAC Mode, Speed, etc etc.

    In the DP83869, RX_D0 & RX_D1 are 4-Level strap pins. Meaning there are 4 options that they control. In Table 9: 4-Level Strap Resistor Ratio, we give our recommended resistor ratios for Rhi & Rlo to meet the required voltage levels to correctly configure these pins. The figure is an example of what the strapping circuit would look like.
