Hello Team,

My customer would like to know if it is possible to handle Mini-LVDS signals with our LVDS repeaters?
Do we have any recommendations? Application consist of 1 pair of clock and 3 pairs of data, and the speed of the signal is about 100MHz.

Hello Renan,

Could you share the Mini-LVDS driver's electrical characteristics? It should be possible to link both mini-LVDS to LVDS as long as the receiver can detect the VOD and VOC from the driver.

Please see response from my customer:

The Mini-LVDS driver is not a special one, but a general one that produces signals compliant with the standard. Therefore, we would like you to introduce us to your product, which can be used as a repeater to insert Mini-LVDS signals and output Mini-LVDS signals.

Hello Renan,

Given the app note (SLDA007A) provided by Clemens and the customer's application, I can give 2 device recommendations.

DS90LV001 (1 Channel) and DS90LV804 (4 Channel). Both comply with electrical and switching characteristic of Mini-LVDS signals. One note: the DS90LV804 has a higher current drive since this device is designed for backplane applications. But given a 100Ω resistor termination, the typical output differential voltage or V(OD) will be 500 mV. This is below the 600mV (max) mentioned in the app note.
