Testing the speed of CAN FD

Hi Team,

Our customer designed a custom carrier board with CAN interface. He would like to know if we have a device that can be used to test the speed of their CAN FD. Can they use the BOOSTXL-CANFD-LIN + LAUNCHXL2-TMS57012 for this application?

    Hi Danilo,

    The TCAN4550 included on this booster pack has it's own integrated CAN FD controller and would likely not be the best option for evaluating the speeds of the CAN FD controllers included in the TMS570 MCU. A simple board with just a CAN FD transceiver such as the TCAN1042EVM would be easier for this setup. 

    Let me know if this sounds like a good solution for what the customer intends and if there are any other questions regarding the CAN evaluation.
