SN65DP159: HDMI 2.0 adaptability

Can you please share the schematic? 

The DP159 input supports AC-coupled input. If the design is on the sink side, then I would think the input will be DC-coupled and TMDS181 will be the more appropriate solution here. 

When in pin-strap mode, I would pull both SDA_CTL and SCL_CTL high to 3.3V through 4.7k resistors.

DP159 is designed on the source side, and the main question here is the inadaptability of intra-pair output skew between DP141 and HDMI2.0 standard. Do you have any design suggestion for customer to solve this problem?

I am not sure if I understand the question. DP141 is a DP redriver, how does it fit into this HDMI2.0 question?

DP159, sorry for wrong typing. 

Customer design DP159 on the source side, and the main question here is the inadaptability of intra-pair output skew between DP159 and HDMI2.0 standard. The spec of DP159 is 40ps max but HDMI2.0 require 25ps. 

Customer wants to know how to design to meet the HDMI2.0 requirement.

The max 40ps intra-pair skew was for redriver mode, which the DP159 can not compensate for the skew at the input side. Also, the number given is maximum, it does not mean DP159 will have exact 40ps of intra-pair skew.

What issue do they have with HDMI2.0? Have they done the HDMI2.0 compliance testing?

Looking at the schematic you sent, can they leave EQ_SEL and PRE_SEL pin floating?

Hi David,

EQ_SEL and PRE_SEL pin is floating, the resistor marked as TRUE is not populated.

Customer tested the signal and found that the Intra-pair output skew exceeds the receiving standard of HDMI 2.0.

Do they have common mode choke on the output? If not, can they add the choke and see if it will pass the intra-pair skew test?
