Hi team,
My customer have to estimate the worst case power consumption and thermal.
Could you provide the maximum current for each power rail under below condition?
BTW, why the Channel Utilization is set to 50% in "4 Power Consumption Baseline Data" in below document?

- SGMII
- Two supply configulation
- VDDIO = 1.8V
- VDDA1P0 = 1.0V
- VDDA2P5 = 2.5V
- Ta max = 85c
- Channel Utilization = 100%
- 1000M and 100M case

Unfortunately, we do not have the measurements for the specific condition you are looking for. However, the power consumption for RGMII and SGMII will be almost similar (SGMII will be slightly greater ~10mW).

You can also refer to the power consumption section for DP83869, which has power consumption measurements for SGMII to Copper.

The Channel Utilization for an ideal measurement in test system is recommended to be 50-60%, that is the reason it is set to 50% in all the tests performed.

Power consumption in RGMII will increase ~10mW with 100% Channel Utilization, but in SGMII I do not expect any change in power consumption.

It is a general guideline, which we follow while performing our tests using 50% Channel Utilization in the packet generator.
