SN65DPHY440SS: DSI Length

We are using MIPI DSI Interface , We don't have place in destination (Display Projector ) so we planning to place SN65DPHY440SS in source board (processor Board) .

is this fine ? or not . in datasheet recommend to place in destination .

Overall length lesser then 10 inch , Processor(source) to SN65DPHY440SS is required 4 inch and SN65DPHY440SS to display projector (destination) required 6 inch.
is this possible to achieve by using this SN65DPHY440SS Re driver IC.

    The DPHY440 supports up to 5dB EQ on its Rx and 2.5dB DE on its TX. These features were intended to some extent to compensate the ISI loss in the channel. What is the data rate and how much is the loss of the 4in and the 6in at the Nyquist frequency of the data rate? We want to make sure the 4in loss can be compensated by the 5dB EQ and 6in loss can be compensated by the 2.5dB DE.

    As to repeater on the Rx or Tx it is really a system choice. If one would like to take use of DPHY440’s EQ capability for ISI compensation he may want DPHY440 close to TX. Please be noted if one wants the “de-skew” feature of DPHY440, the repeater should be placed in a location where skew has happened.
