DS90UB933-Q1: Any redriver reccomendation

can you please explain what are B and C? What type of boards are these? What is on them? And why are they used if it is just bypassing?!!

They cannot plug in the connector of board A and the connector of board D because of the size limitation.

Do they need to put  DS90UB933 and DS90UB934 in board B and C as pass the parallel signal through the board B and C?

Can't you just use a cable? I am still confused what is the issue here!! You said they have space limitation hence can't connect the connectors, but there is space to add two more boards!!?

They just mentioned there is "a size limitation" and "the position between them".

They need to bypass the board B and C because can't connect board A and D directly.

I just want to know Is it possible to adopt the attached schematic?(I guess it's not)

and if not, Can desilializing the signal at board B and A be the solution?

Thanks for following up on this. I believe the confusion from our side is due to the fact that the total cable length is only 5m. Generally FPD-Link devices can extend to a greater length than this without any need for a repeater configuration.

The cases where we have seen repeaters are for extreme cable lengths of 18+ meters, however in this case a single coax cable should work.

Hi Shoo,

We wouldn't recommend a configuration as you've listed unless it's necessary. Normally with our ADAS devices we use power over cable (PoC), so each device which is added to the chain will require more power. This will lead to some significant complexities in the design process.

Is there a reason that this customer would like a design like this instead of a simple configuration with a COAX between boards A and D?

This is not for ADAS application.

This is for Medical application but don't know exact EE.

They used to use SN65LV1224B. however they mentioned in this model it doesn't meet their requirement of bandwidth.

now they consider for adopting DS90UB933/4.

in this case they don't worry about power consumption.

Just they want to know the solution of passing the signal from  A to D with bypassing B and C.

As I mentioned, They have to bypass the signal B and C because of the position and size limitation.

Their requirement is the below

Data: 14bit(using HSYNC and VSYNC as well)

Frequency: 100MHz
