To decide which solution is applicable to your design, please let us know insertion loss of your transmission media at Nyquist frequency. Also, please send us an overall block diagram of your application.

The first information I can share is the distance between COM Express module and MXM module for PEG_TXi (or PEG_RXi) differential pairs. It is about 270mm.

Hi Michel,

Insertion loss would be a function of board material you would be using. Based on different dielectric constant and loss tangent, this 270mm media could have a wide loss characteristics. We can provide you model of these parts and you can run some simulations. Alternatively, you can make a friend request to me and send us us a more detailed description of your project so we can comment further.
