TMUXHS4212: x16 PCIe Link through x8 Demuxed and x8 Non-Demuxed Lanes

Hi everyone,

Is it possible to establish an x16 PCIe Gen3 link using this IC in a configuration where 8 of the 16 lanes are outputted from multiple instances of this IC and the other 8 lanes are directly routed to the CPU (Root Complex), without passing through the demuxing logic?

Or is x8x8 bifurcation needed, since 8 lanes will pass through the demuxing paths and 8 lanes will not be routed through the IC?
