DS250DF230: support Ethernet transmission speeds

Part Number: DS250DF230

Hi,

Does the DS250DF230 support the following Ethernet transmission speeds?

・1000BASE-T (1000Mbps)

・2.5GBASE-T (2.5Gbps)

・5GBASE-T (5Gbps)

・10GBASE-LX (10Gbps)

・10GBASE-T (10Gbps)

Best Regards,

Nishie

  • Hi Nishie-san,

Although the DS250DF230 can support 1 Gbps, 2.5 Gbps, 5 Gbps, and 10 Gbps, it is not suitable for base-T signaling.  The DS250DF230 is designed for NRZ signaling, while Base-T typically implements more than two signaling levels.  Because of this, it would not support the majority of the applications you mentioned above.

Regarding 10GBASE-LX, I could only find references to 10GBASE-LX4 in the IEEE802.3 specification.  I'm not too familiar with 10GBASE-LX4.  It looks like this is an optical specification that implements 4 lanes of data in order to achieve a 10 Gbps link.  Can you clarify the electrical specifications that would be pertinent to this?  Would there be 4 lanes of data at 3.125 Gbps, or just a single lane at 10.3125 Gbps?  Would this be NRZ signaling?

    Thanks,

    Drew

  • Hi Drew-san,

    Thank you for your support.

I get that the DS250DF230 is not suitable for Base-T signaling.

If possible, could you tell me which device supports 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps (Base-T)?

I will ask our customer about the 10 GBASE-LX lane configuration.

    Best Regards,

    Nishie

  • Hi Nishie-san,

Unfortunately, we do not have redrivers or retimers in our product line that are suitable for Base-T signaling.

    Thanks,

    Drew
