LMH0340: LMH0340 SDO and SDO# as video outputs

Hi,

I am designing a HD-SDI Transmitter board which gives two SDI Video Outputs.

I have attached general block diagram for reference.

I need 2 video outputs from single HDSDI Chip. I am planning to use LMH0340 as HD-SDI Transmitter. It is mentioned in datasheet that SDO# is complementary output of SDO. If I use SDO# as video output will there be any difference in video compared to SDO?

Greetings,

There will not be aa difference. Please note SDI is NRZ so it does not make a difference.

So if I connect SDO and SDO# to different monitors or display I would be seeing same video?

Hi Aman,

SDO is a differential signal: SDO is positive lead while SDO# is the negative lead of this differential signal.

If SDO and SDO# are differential signals then how will it become same video as SDO# is complementary of SDO.

Hi Aman,

SDI, per SMPTE specification, is polarity insensitive.
