Hi,

I have been trying to achieve auto-negotiation in the DP83867IR and so achieved 10mbps auto-negotiation. When I forcefully make the PHY run at 1000mbps using the terminal, it does but 100mbps or 1000mbps could not be achieved with auto-negotiation.

The bootstrap I have followed to achieve this is:

Pin name	Pin State
ETH RXD2	HIGH
ETHRXD4	LOW
ETHRXD0	LOW

Could you guide me on achieving 1000mbps and 100mbps with auto-negotiation?

Hi Jeevan,

I would like to establish a baseline to be able to appropriately help.

- What do you mean by Pin state low? Does this mean Mode 1? A schematic might help clarify.

- What is intended strap mode of LED_1?

- Can you provide register setting of register 0x0, 0x1, 0x4, 0x5, 0x6, 0x9, 0xA in 10mbps auto-neg (working), 100mbps auto-neg and 1Gbps auto-neg (Non-working) cases?

- Can you also provide 0x6E, 0x6F, and 0x3? The readings for these are independent of the cases described above.

- What transformer are you using on MDI?

Hi Gerome,

The image of the schematic is attached.

I am still figuring out how to read the register setting will keep you posted on this, The PHY has been interfaced with ZYNQ 7020.

Hi Jeevan,

After looking at schematic, I see that autonegotiation is not strapped appropriately. RX_CTRL needs to be strapped into mode 3 or 4, while I see that they are floating (presumably only connection is to the MAC). Could you see if populating the resistors would help? Also ensure that MAC is not loading the line on its side (needs to be HI-Z).
