DS90UB941AS-Q1: how to enable CRC and ECC function

Part Number: DS90UB941AS-Q1

Hello,

I would like to confirm about the CRC and ECC features about DS90UB941AS, how to enable CRC and ECC of DSI data? Or how to add the CRC and ECC about DSI data?

About the DSI_ERR registers, what does the DSI_err status mean? Does it mean BIST status?

Best regards

kailyn

  • Hi Kailyn,

941AS does not have ECC functionality on FPD-Link, UB devices also do not have ECC/CRC functionality. Whereas UH does have CRC.

I see above that you are specifically asking about UB, can you confirm?

    Regards,

    Logan

  • Dear Logan,

Thank you very much for your reply. Yes, I am asking about UB, but the datasheet of DS90UB941 also describes ECC and ERC generation same with DS90UH941. In addition, UB has DSI_ERR_COUNT Register, DSI_ERR_RPT_x regsiters.  What does it mean?

    Best regards

    Kailyn

  • Hello Kailyn,

I have talked to Logan. He actually has gone a step further and his answer is about the RGB Checksum error which is available only in UH devices.

You can enable the DSI ECC or CRC errors in the indirect registers 0x22 and 0x23 (See d/s page 115).

in reg 0x2A, 0x2B and 0x2C, all DSI related errors will be reported. Please refer to d/s section "8.3.1.3.3 DSI Error Reporting"

and section "8.3.1.3.4 DSI Error Counter".
