SN75DP126: Translating from a DDI interface, to HDMI 2.0

Hi,

DDI is not strictly just DP++, depends on its mode, it can be DP++, TCP, DSI, etc. You have to check the Intel GPU datasheet to make sure it can support DP++.

For DP++ to HDMI2.0, you can use DP158 (Re-driver) or DP159 (Re-timer).

This is really difficult to find any useful data on DDI.

In the datasheet for comet lake I found this   

"•DDI interface can be configured as DisplayPort* or HDMI*.
•Each DDI can support dual mode (DP++).
•Each DDI can support DVI (DVI max resolution is 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz).
•The DisplayPort* can be configured to use 1, 2, or 4 lanes depending on the bandwidth requirements and link data rate."

We are using a com express module, and there is not so much data about it.

So for you DP158 or DP159 will be compatible ?

Dear David,

intel in the documentation recommend to have a LS-Pcon converter chip for HDMI 2.0.

Is that integrated in the DP159 ? This is not clear to me. I guess you don't have any reference design with that processor ?
