DP83826E: EtherCAT Schematic review

Hello -

We have designed and are testing the DP83826 with an XMC4800 EtherCAT Slave. We have had some issues, such as misunderstanding the Auto-negotiation strapping resistor and the way the XMC reference board and code uses the activity LED. We have resolved both of these and are still having some issues. Our software engineer has printed the registers out and they appear to be correct.

We have both link and activity, but the EtherCAT controller is not able to get past Init.

We think we have narrowed down the current problem to the RX TX lines between the XMC and the PHY.

I am looking for someone from TI to review the schematic of our design and potentially the layout.

If there is link and activity then the PHY is able to pass data correctly.

You can also perform different loopback tests to verify if the PHY<->RJ-45 and MAC<->PHY connections are good.

If you are using TwinCAT and scan the device you are able to find the device, I believe the states have to be configured in the ESC.
