DS90UB948-Q1: No information of 0x23[7] in the history

Hello,

I only have datasheets revision A and D and my customer has been using UB948-Q1 based on revision A. My customer was wondering the background of the 0x23[7] change which isn't shown the in the history of the datasheet revision D. Would you please tell me about it? Was it "Reserved" originally, but the datasheet showed it as RX RGB CHECKSUM by mistake? Is it read only bit originally even though the revision A datasheet said R/W?

Hello Yoshikazu,

RGB Checksum functionality is only available on the UH version of the 948, which is why it is now marked as reserved in the UB948 datasheet. I'm not sure why it was missed in the revision history, but that is the background.

Hello Casey-san,

Thank you very much for your comments. I checked UH948-Q1 datasheet as well, but it is the same as UB948-Q1. I mean it didn't show the history, but the 0x23[7] bit has changed from CHECKSUM to Reserved. Would you please tell me the reason why it is reserved in UH948-Q1 as well? Was it a typo?

I looked into this further and there is indeed a typo here. 0x23[7] was meant to be reserved in UB948 because the RGB checksum feature is only available on UH948, but it was accidentally also removed from UH948. So I made a note for the next datasheet revision to include 0x23[7] in the UH948 datasheet again.

Thank you very much for your comments. Actually, there are other typos in revision D datasheet, Would you please fix these as well?

1. 0x45[7:5] says 0x100(UB948) and 100(UH948), but it should be 0x4 in hex.

2. 0x4B[3:2] says 0x10(both UB948 and UH948), but it should be 0x2 in hex.
