DS90UB948-Q1: The background information request which isn't shown in the history

Part Number: DS90UB948-Q1

Hello,

The datasheet revision D shows a lot of changed items, but some were changed without showing in the history and my customer asked me the background of the following items.  Would you please give me your comments?

1. tDDLT was shown as 5ms(typ)/10ms(max) in revision A datasheet, but it's not shown in the revision D.  Would you please tell me why you removed that?  Note that tDDLT symbol still exists in revision D on page 19 though.

2. BIST PASS waveform as Figure 12 was shown in revision A, but it isn't in revision D.  Would you please tell me the reason why you removed the figure?

3. Power up sequence shown in the revision A says maximum value like VDD33 rise time as <1.5ms, but the revision D does minimum as 0.2ms.  Are the values in revision D correct?  Would you please tell me the reason why you changed the values from maximum to minimum?

Best Regards,

Yoshikazu Kawasaki

  • Hello,

I need to go through our revision history and investigate this to find the background. It may be the case that some of these were removed by accident. I will get back to you by the end of the week.

    Regards,

    Ben

  • Hi,

To give you an update, I am still working on finding the background for these but I can give some short answers for now:

    1. tDDLT was shown as 5ms(typ)/10ms(max) in revision A datasheet, but it's not shown in the revision D.  Would you please tell me why you removed that?  Note that tDDLT symbol still exists in revision D on page 19 though.

You can use the 5ms(typ)/10ms(max) in revision A.

    2. BIST PASS waveform as Figure 12 was shown in revision A, but it isn't in revision D.  Would you please tell me the reason why you removed the figure?

This is likely because we don't have specs for the times shown in that figure, however I am still looking into this.

    3. Power up sequence shown in the revision A says maximum value like VDD33 rise time as <1.5ms, but the revision D does minimum as 0.2ms.  Are the values in revision D correct?  Would you please tell me the reason why you changed the values from maximum to minimum?

Revision D is correct, working on finding full background on this change.

    Regards,

    Ben

  • Hello Ben-san,

Thank you very much for your comments.

    1. tDDLT

You can use the 5ms(typ)/10ms(max) in revision A

Do you mean the tDDLT spec will be shown in the next revision again?  If so, did you remove that by mistake?  My customer would like you to show it again in the next revision.

    2. BIST PASS

    This is likely

Do you mean the waveform shown as figure 12 in revision A was wrong because you don't have data for that, then it was removed?

    3.Power up sequence

Than you.  I'll wait for your next reply.

    Best Regards,

  • Hello,

I can't guarantee this will be included, however we will discuss this internally. Either way, we usually recommend using 10ms as a typical lock time for this device.

    2. BIST PASS

I got some more info on this. This figure had a mistake showing that the PASS status will stay high for sometime then go low, which is not accurate. The correct description is that after BIST is deactivated, the result of the last test is held on the PASS output until reset (new BIST test or power down), as stated in section 7.3.15.1 BIST Configuration and Status.

    3.Power up sequence

The most recent revision has the most accurate data, please use this.

    Regards,

    Ben
