TUSB9261DEMO: tusb9260 bootloader installer for windows 10

Part Number: TUSB9261DEMO
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB9260, TUSB9261

Hello,

I'v been ask to post my concern here by customer support. The problem I noticed is that the flash burner installer does not install the tusb9260 bootloader driver under windows 10 pro 64 bit os.

After several trial I unzipped the original Flash burner installer version 2.10.0 and tried to install the driver manually. The os failed to install because it does not recognize the inf file as a valid one.

In the weekend I spent some time reading Microsoft documentation on the inf file and notice that some sections that Microsoft marked as required are not present in the inf file. Readering Microsoft documentation it seems that sections like DefaultInstall and DefaultInstall.Services are required.

Could you please help me? Could you please test how to install the flash burner and specially the driver under windows 10 pro 64bit os?

My  developing project is stalled because I deleted the boot loader on the demo board and I cannot flash any firmware on it.

Thank you for your support

Best regards

  • Hi Eric,

Sorry, we do not have any software experts on the team to assist with these issues.  This is why the TUSB9261 software is offered as-is with limited support.

That being said, I will attempt to use the software on my computer and let you know if I have the same problem.  Please allow me a day to test.

    Regards,

    Nicholaus

  • Hi Nicholaus,

    thank you for your reply.

In case you don't find a solution could you please send me the driver source code so I can recompile it under windows 10 and create an installer?

In case of positive result I could share the result with Ti support.

    Regards

    Eric

  • Hi Eric,

I was able to install and use the TUSB9261 FlashBurner software using Windows 10 64-bit (21H2)

Can you show me the error messages you see when you try to use the installer?  Is there another test you would like me to try?

    Regards,

    Nicholaus

  • Hi Nicholaus,

thank you for the time you're spending on my issue.

During installation did the installer asked you to install the driver?

Where you able to upload a new firmware on your board? I'm asking this because I notice that the burner icon is grayed as it was in my case at the beginning. Also loading an hex file to burn, it didn't turn active. What I made next was to try a flash erase (red x) and this command worked but then the problem arise. The software recognized the unit as a TUSB926x bootloader device but it was not possible to upload anymore the boot loader or a firmware on the device.

So I started to look for the reason and I found out that windows do not recognized the device and there is no driver associated to this device.

I installed many times the flash burner software and everything seems to be fine but the driver is not installed.

I attach a video of a fresh installation process and a screenshot of device listing after reboot.

If you do a flash erase of your board does the system recognize the board?

    Regards

    Eric

  • Hi Eric,

Sorry for the delay.  Yes, it looks like I have the driver installed on my computer.  Is it possible that the installation wasn't done in administrator mode, or something similar to cause the driver installation to fail?

    Regards,

    Nicholaus

  • Hi Nicholaus,

I've uninstalled Flash burner, updated windows 10 to version 22H2, downaloaded Flash burner againg from Ti website, installed as administrator.

The result doeasn't change. Still no way to install the driver.

I don't know if is important but when decompressing the zip file downloaded from Ti website I got the warning message "data after payload". I don't know what this exactly mean.

For some reason my system doesn't like this installer.

Did you installed the software with the board connected to usb or not?

Could you please send me your installer, maybe downloading I corrupt it.

    Thank you for your support

    Regards

    Eric

  • Hi Nicholaus,

  • Hi Nicholaus,

thank you for the linux package. Could you please send me also the windows installer you used on your pc so I can check if mine is corrupted?

    Thank you for your help

    Regards

    Eric

  • Hi Nicholaus,

thank you for windows package and source code. I checked the gui installer MD5 and is the same in mine and  yours.

I'll try to look for if there is any windows setup that prevent to install the driver.

In case I'll try to recompile the driver and see if windows accept it.

    Thank you for your support.

I'll mark as closed issue because is clear that the problem is on my side of windows installation

    Regards
