Hi David,
There aren't any differences. The G4 Suffix – meant pre-plated with ‘Green’ mold compound - however over time we push for all of our parts to be made to meet the "Green Status" so both devices are equivalent - the orderable part number with the "G4" suffix is there so that customers who already had the orderable part number in their system didn't have to change which device they ordered.
This is explored more in-depth on this E2E post in our logic forum (but this largely applies to many older TI devices beyond just logic devices) : https://e2e.ti.com/support/logic-group/logic/f/logic-forum/720395/faq-why-does-a-logic-device-s-part-number-have-an-e4-g4-suffix?keyMatch=G4+SUFFIX
Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Best,
Parker Dodson
