Hello,
How many devices are you trying to connect to the XtalOUT? If you are trying to connect XtalOUT to multiple devices, you will need to use a clock splitter.
How are you driving the oscillator?
SN65DSI86 supports 12-MHz, 19.2-MHz, 26-MHz, 27-MHz, and 38.4-MHz frequencies through external reference clock.
A7 is the correct pin to connect the REFCLK.
Thanks,
Zach
Hello, LOI,
How are you driving the oscillator? There are multiple proper conditions to use the DSI HS CLK.
The A7 pin must be tied to GND when DACP/N feeds the DisplayPort PLL.
Please refer to section 8.3.3.1 GPIO REFCLK and DSIA Clock Selection of the datasheet to understand how to select the DSI HS CLK.
Additionally, the DSI86 registers must be configured correctly. Here is a spreadsheet to assist you with programming the registers of the DSI86: https://e2e.ti.com/support/interface-group/interface/f/interface-forum/945404/faq-sn65dsi86-how-do-i-programming-the-sn65dsi86-registers.
Thanks,
Zach
