DP83826E: DP83826E no link if connected to 1gbe port

Hi,

There is no link if connect DP83826 directly to 10/100/1000 Ethernet port with CAT5 Ethernet cable.

Tested against 2 types of 10/100/1000 ports (2 different vendors - Realtek GbE and Atheros).

In one case no Link at all, in the second we have non-stable 10 mbps link.

Auto negotiation set to 100bmps with strap option.

Only if we put 10/100 Switch in the middle we have stable link.

What can be the reason for that?

Hi Rasty,

If ANEG is enabled on the DP83826 side and ANEG is enabled on the gigabit PHY, you should be able to see that DP83826 will link at 100M speed.

Can you please share register dump from 00h to 1Eh and 467h of the DP83826 when connected to gigabit link partners?

At the end it was wrong connector with swapped signals inside.
