I am trying to update the software of DP83TG720EVM-MC using MSP-EXP430G2.

User's Guide I was able to make the connections described in the DP83TG720 Media Converter Evaluation Module.

I don't know what to choose for the flash image.

Do I have to write the code in a text file myself?

Hello,

DP83TG720EVM-MC's MSP should already come pre-flashed. Can you please check the PHY ID's to see if you can read registers out of box? If you can, there is no need for flashing.

Hello

Unable to find PHYID in USB-2-MDIO-TOOL.
I would like to change the test mode of the PMA test after finding the PHYID.

Hi Hatano,

To confirm, using USB2MDIO on DP83TG720EVM-MC, you cannot find DP83867 (PHY ID 0) nor DP83TG720 (PHY ID 8)? Have you altered the on-board MSP FW before in any way?

Can you also confirm you are observing the correct COM port and have section 15 of jumpers connected appropriately?

How do you know you are unable to find PHYID in USB2MDIO?
