TCA9539-Q1: spec inquiry for INT pull up

Part Number: TCA9539-Q1

Hello team,

Can you explain more description about the following sentence in the datasheet of TCA9539-Q1?

   (1) For voltages applied above VCC, an increase in ICC results.

When using VCC=1.8V and INT pull-up to 3.3V, how much will ICC increase?

Thanks,

Sam Lee

  • Hi Sam,

The ESD cells should NOT back bias so the 1.8V rail should be okay while INT is pulled-up to 3.3V. Having VCC < pull-up voltage on INT pin could allow for some higher leakage current/supply current, therefore increasing ICC current.

    Regards,

    Tyler
