The customer has a problem, as shown in the picture below, there are four camera in channels on the left, and two CSI out channels in the green circle on the right May I ask how to use these two CSI outs? Based on the total input data rate of the left camera, decide whether to use one CSI output or two CSI outputs on the right side? If yes, is it necessary for the SOC to have two independent PORT CSIs with virtual channels to take out four CAMERA screens? If not, how to use these two CSI out?

Hello Gareth,

You should decide whether you use one CSI-2 output ports or two ports depending on two factors:

1) The total datarate at the DES input ports. If one output is not sufficient then you must use both.

2) Depending on your system needs. i.e. If you require to get some cameras on output 0 and the others on output 1, or you may want to have all cameras on output 0 and replicate all on output 1.

Hi Hamzeh

Assuming that the bandwidth required by CSI exceeds 4 lanes, But SOC has only one CSI input of 4lane + 2lane Can this be implemented in the application? (DS90UB964 "CSI1 only outputs 2 lanes + CSI0 outputs 4 lanes" to SOC)

Hello Gareth,

Yes, you can use either 2 lanes or 4 lanes for each CSI-2 port.
