SN65C1168: looking for similar part but need to support +/-16V input

There are very few 2+2 devices, and none of them go above 12 V.

I'd recommend two 1+1 transceivers like the THVD2450.

Clemens is correct- I think the best option would most likely be the THVD2450 or a similar device. 

Do you have any concerns with the 1+1 device compared to the 2+2 device? I do think this is our best option but if there are any concerns please let me know and  I will see what I can do!

The THVD2450 is fault-protected against ±70 V.

If the pins can be touched, then you might want to consider additional ESD protection at the connector.

The THVD2450 can be used in a multi-protocol application - but the THVD2450 can only handle RS-422 and RS-485 signals.

The THVD2450 can be withstand +/-16V inputs - so that shouldn't be an issue.
