Dear team,
Could you recommend the similar solution with SN65C1168 but can support +/-16V input device?
Thanks.

Ben

Hi Ben,
Clemens is correct- I think the best option would most likely be the THVD2450 or a similar device.
Do you have any concerns with the 1+1 device compared to the 2+2 device? I do think this is our best option but if there are any concerns please let me know and I will see what I can do!

Hi Parker,
Could you help to check if THVD2450 suitable for RS232 console cable application?
Because customer worried about end-user will plug in RS422 into RS232 console port, so want to use +/-16V input as THVD2450.
Regards,
Ben
Hi Ben,
The THVD2450 can be used in a multi-protocol application - but the THVD2450 can only handle RS-422 and RS-485 signals.
For RS-232 + RS-485/422 an additional RS-232 device would be needed - please see reference design here: https://www.ti.com/lit/ug/tidua80/tidua80.pdf?ts=1678735007880&ref_url=https%253A%252F%252Fwww.ti.com%252Fsitesearch%252Fen-us%252Fdocs%252Funiversalsearch.tsp%253FlangPref%253Den-US%2526searchTerm%253Dmultiprotocol%2526nr%253D1584
The THVD2450 can be withstand +/-16V inputs - so that shouldn't be an issue.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best,
Parker Dodson
