MAX3243: Max value for I_OH

Part Number: MAX3243
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN74LVC1G07

Hello team,

On the datasheet, it's difined that the V_OL is max 0.4V when I_OH=1.6mA.

What is the maximum output for the I_OH? Can it go up to 3 - 5mA?

If that's possible to achieve I_OH=3 - 5mA, then waht would be the V_OL at that condition?

Best Regards,

Kei Kuwahara

  • There are no specified or guaranteed output characteristics for currents larger than 1.6 mA.

The receiver output is designed to drive nothing more than a logic input. If you want add a larger load like a LED, consider using a LED current no larger than the limit, or adding a buffer like the SN74LVC1G07.

  • Hi Kei,

Clemens is correct - we don't guarantee performance above the test conditions in the datasheet. If driving more than just a logic pin, such as an LED or similar component, a buffer may be the best idea to guarantee performance of the system if more current is needed from the receiver console side outputs.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Best,
