DS160PR421: Undriven Inputs

Part Number: DS160PR421

Hello E2E,

I want to use the DS160PR421/412 parts to be able to have a redriver + mux since the channel lengths after this till the device are expected to be quite long.  The mux will sit between the SOC and inputs (TX) for the 412 and also between the SOC and the output (RX) of the 421

    1. Due to the presence of an additional mux before the redriver+mux part, only one of the ‘inputs’ will be active. Other inputs will not be driven by the mux.
    2. But since there is only one select line for all the 4 channels of the redriver+ mux part, all channels switch to the respective “channel A” outputs or “channel B” outputs.
    3. So how would this behave if one of the input channels is not being driven, but the output of the mux is connected to an end device?

Thanks!

Russell
