TCAN1145-Q1: State Diagram question

Part Number: TCAN1145-Q1

Hello TCAN team,

I have several question about TCAN1145,state machine below

And software team is now building the sequence, so need quick help..

Q1) In the limited condition; Enable Fale-Safe + Disable SWE (Meaning  FS_DIS=0b & SWE_DIS=1b)

When UV happen, state diagram move to Fail-Safe (but SWE timer not start). So the state move to sleep after tSILENCE. Is my understanding correct?

Q2) This is also FS_DIS=0b condition. While in normal mode and VIO < UVIO happens; it takes tUVSLP to move Fail-Safe.

During tUVSLP, the VIO recover (VIO > UVIO), the state machine doesn't go to Fail-Safe mode. (back to normal) . Is my understanding correct?

Q3) No way to stop "state change" by SWE timeout.

Regardless SWE_DIS setting, state machine finally get into sleep mode, when error event happen.

Regards,

ti

  • Hi Ti,

    1) The SWE_DIS field does not fully disable the timer, it only prevents a wake event in Sleep mode from starting the timer. Entering failsafe mode will still start the SWE timer to allow the device to timeout into Sleep mode after ~4 minutes.

    2) Yes, the device will remain in it's original mode (Normal in this case) if Vio recovers before the undervoltage timer times out.

    3) As in 1, the SWE timer will still move the transceiver to Sleep mode after some time in failsafe mode.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
