TCAN1043A-Q1: WAKE pin pull-down or pull-up, does it need bias resistor?

Part Number: TCAN1043A-Q1

Hi team,

We do not need LUP, WAKE pin is not used. Which configuration do we have to do?

(1) Pulled up to VCC or pulled down to GND without any resistor

(2) Pulled up to VCC or pulled down to GND with RSERIES=15kohm, without Rbias, such (Figure 8-7. WAKE Circuit Example)

Regards,
Ochi

  • Hi Ochi-san,

The WAKE pin for TCAN1043A has an adaptive internal bias that minimizes leakage current for if the external bias is referenced to Vsup potential or to GND. Any bias to Vcc is non-ideal because this pin does not have an internal reference to that supply (unless Vcc = Vsup).

If the WAKE pin is not used, it can be safely tied to GND with no resistor required.

Let me know if you have any more questions.

    Regards,
    Eric Schott
