LMH1297: System update from 3G-SDI to 12G-SDI updatation support .

Part Number: LMH1297
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMH0344, LMH0307, , LMH1219, LMH1228

Hi Team ,

in our existing design of 3G-SDI video optical transmission we use "LMH0344" for SDI to Optical Transmatation over 1X9 opto transmitter

and for video 1X9 optical receiver we have

"LMH0346-Reclocker" and "LMH0307 - Cable driver with cable detect"  IC for Dual SDI signal generation from Optical Signal (1X9 Opto receiver )

Now we are planning to update our video transmission with 6G-SDI Or 12G-SDI

so i have to change the existing design with "LMH1219 / LMH1297" is it the right understanding ? for Transmatation (SDI - SFP)

and for Receiver(SFP - dual SDI ) for dual output of SDI signal is it ok to short In0 nad In1 pin at input side and get dual output on output port ? or is there any other way to get dual output SDI signal for 6G-SDI / 12G-SDI signal ?

Regards,

Nikunj

  • Hi Nikunj,

Based on my understanding of your system, for your transmitter, I would recommend considering either LMH1297 or LMH1219, like you mentioned.

For your receiver, I would recommend using either LMH1228 or LMH1297.  Something that might simplify your design is to use the LMH1297 in both tx and rx since this would allow for you to focus on implementing a single device.

Does this match your system requirements?

    Thanks,
    Drew

  • Hi Drew ,

Thank you for your prompt replay , i think you are right "LMH1297" is good solutation for my system requirements.
