DS160PR410: Power ripple (AC noise) requirement

Hi There

We use DS160PR410 in our system, and we check power ripple now.

We use switching power to be DS160PR410 power source.

And we find datasheet only recommended operating conditions.

Does it have a max ripple specification? Thanks!

Hi Bert,

Device has internal regulator. Further, with supply coupling Caps, the ripple is almost non-existent. Typically, we need ripple to be less than 20mV up to 20MHz.

Because our switch power specification is DC 2% (66mV),not meet 20mV.

Measurement DS160PR410 Power pin(VDD) Vpp about 60mV. Does it have risk? Or we need change to use LDO?

(We already follow datasheet use 0.1u x4 + 1u x1 )

Hi Bert,

Please use scope probe to verify it is 66mV on DS160PR412 VDD pin. Typically with data sheet recommend supply coupling Caps, we have much lower than 20mV noise. Otherwise, you would need to add additional Caps or Ferrite Bead to reduce the noise.
