TCA6408A: Power-On Reset Requirements

Part Number: TCA6408A

Dear Technical Support Team,

The datasheet has been updated to RevE.

Ramping up the device VCCP before VCCI is recommended to prevent SDA from potentially being stuck LOW.

Does enabling reset remove the stuck and return to normal operation?

Best Regards,

ttd

  • Hi ttd,

The device is expected to return back to functioning correctly/normally after both power rails are up/online. Toggling RESET shouldn't be required but you can do it after both lines power up as a 'just in case' option.

  • Hi Boddy,

My configuration might be fail to follow ramp-up provisions(Ramping up the device VCCP before VCCI) . So I will change to toggle reset every time after both lines power up to avoid "stuck low"

    Best Regards,

  • HI ttd,

Toggling RESET should be fine and work after both rails power up. The reset pin actually toggles the entire device's POR circuit so if SDA were still stuck low, we would expect reset toggle to fix it (if both rails are up).
