In the datasheet 9.4.7 it says DP8369HM supports Unmanaged media Converter mode, which is activated through straps.
At the same time it says some capabilities, such as LED config, capabilities in Auto-Neg may need configuration and I see MSP430F5529 on EVM (DP83869EVM).
Just confirm my understanding of this PHY. Based on Tables 9-9 and 9-16 it is possible to fully define this PHY as media converter (either 1000Base-X to 1000Base-T or 100Base-SX to 100Base-TX) without use of the MCU (dip switches).
The more I look into this project, the more I realize, it would be easier to include small MCU on this PCB. Yet, just making sure, both options still available.
