TLIN1028-Q1: behavior when enter current limit protection

Part Number: TLIN1028-Q1

Hi Expert,

I would like to check with you what is the behavior for TLIN1028-Q1 when VCC output current reach the current limit threshold?

From the datasheet, my understanding is that when there is overcurrent situation happens on the VCC. The internal LDO will limit the output current to current limit value(275mA). And the output voltage will drop. If the output drop below the UVCC level, nRST will be pulled low. But the internal LDO will not be disabled. The LDO will keep output until thermal shutdown. Is it correct?

Thanks!

  • Ethan,

Yes, you are understanding correctly. If overcurrent occurs, this would result in an undervoltage on VCC. The idea here is that in a system, the nRST output would be used to reset the MCU, hopefully fixing the overcurrent issue.

    Best,

    Danny
