TUSB3410: USB-to-UART Required Driver

Part Number: TUSB3410
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN75LV4737A

Hello,

I’m working on a reference design with a third-party USB-to-UART bridge that I would like to replace with a TUSB3410. In the datasheet, I saw this diagram which I wanted some clarification on:

Does the RS232/RS485/IrDA Device refer to an actual driver (like the SN75LV4737A I saw referenced)? Or can I simply route the UART lines directly to the MCU.

Thank you,

Colin
