DP83867IS: Magnetics review request

Hi team,

Could you please double check if GST5009M is OK for DP83867IS?

This question is once addressed in the thread below.

However, my customer worries about the datasheet description which mentions "Open Circuit Inductance 320 to 350 uH(typ)" is recommended.

Looking at GST5009M datasheet specifies 350uH OCL(uH Min) @100KHz/0.1V with 8mA DC Bias.

Do you think it is still OK?

Also, does datasheet specified recommendation "Open Circuit Inductance 320 to 350 uH(typ)" have any specific measurement condition?

Hi Itoh,

As mentioned in the other E2E thread, this magnetics look OK. We haven't actually tested/ validated this particular magnetics on our end, so we would recommend customer to perform tests before using in production.

Could you please elaborate on why GST5009M should be OK while the OCL is out of recommended value in the datasheet?

Hi Itoh,

GST5009M inductance value is 350uH, which is in the recommended range of the datasheet.

Hi Rahul-san,

350uH OCL of GST5009M is minimum value under specific DC Bias.

So my customer thinks it's technically out of range.

Could you please comment?
