TCAN1145-Q1: wake up the host MCU

Part Number: TCAN1145-Q1

Hi ti

Does this chip support the ability to wake up the host MCU? How to wake up host mcu if supported?

  • Rain,

The TCAN114x-Q1 family has the INH pin which is meant to enable a power supply to power the entire system around the CAN transceiver. The INH pin is a high-voltage output pulled up to battery. In sleep mode, the INH pin is disabled, and the intended use is to disable the power supply it is connected to, thus shutting down power for the entire system. When the TCAN114x-Q1 is awakened, it will transition to standby mode where INH will be in a high state, enabling the power supply, and thus powering up the MCU and other rails in the system. When this occurs, the MCU can then configure and transition the TCAN114x-Q1 into normal mode.

The TCAN114x-Q1 also drives RXD low when a wake request has been received (only when VCC is present), and this can be used as an indicator for the MCU to configure the device and place it back into Normal mode.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Regards,

    Eric Hackett
