DS90UB954-Q1: POC related issues

Part Number: DS90UB954-Q1

Hi team,

One of our customer's issues,  could you please provide some troubleshooting suggestions?

The coaxial line is connected to the camera 800 * 640/10fps, and filtered according to the connection method shown in Figure 8-3 of the DS90UB954-Q1 datasheet. The Vpoc outputs+12V power through the on-board DCDC chip.

Tests have found that on some boards, when the camera application is turned on, the+12V voltage will drop, causing a black screen that cannot be recovered. Using an oscilloscope, it is found that when the camera application is turned on, there is noise interference in the+12V plane output by the DCDC, which is suspected to be caused by a larger inductance of 100uH in the PoC filter circuit;

After bypassing the filter circuit, the+12V voltage drop and black screen did not occur during multiple tests, but new problems were introduced that caused the CPU on the board to fail to start up.

I would like to inquire about the impact this filter circuit will have on the operation of the DCDC, how to modify the parameter values if they can be modified, and what tests need to be conducted to ensure reliability after modification.

PS: Due to the inability to send files outside the company's intranet, the test waveform and circuit connection can be sent by email if necessary.

Best Regards,

Amy Luo

  • Hello Amy,

    Can you provide more details, such as the used SER, clocking mode, number of connected cameras?

    After bypassing the filter circuit, the+12V voltage drop and black screen did not occur during multiple tests, but new problems were introduced that caused the CPU on the board to fail to start up.

    How did you bypass the PoC filter?

    And what is the new problem causing the CPU to start?

    please send schematics from SER and DES to me per email.
